Is Sonet worth buying?

Sonet prices have been recently revealed and honestly they haven't done a great job and justice to people waiting for this product.

  1. Base 2 variants with just 1.2 L option isn't worth considering(underpowered for a car of this size) and also lot of basis features are missing.
  2. No manual option in 1 L turbo engine.
  3. difference between imt and DCT is 1 lakh which is usually the difference between proper manual and DCT.
  4. HTX and HTX+ price difference is almost 2 lakh on road for the additional features offered.
  5. GTX DCT and AT prices aren't revealed yet which are expected to be 13 lakh ex showroom and would end up around 15 lakh on road.

Is it really worth considering the car as the petrol turbo manual is missing, no safety tests done yet and also pricing isn't done in a way it was expected.

I just went to take a test drive today as it was the only way to find out what Kia is actually up to. Honestly speaking the car is very good. Drove the imt version and it’s smooth and slick and yes there seems to be HALF SECOND delay in comparison to manual in gear shifts which isn’t available but I just compared with my diesel i20. You don’t feel that gap and only notice when you try to quickly shift gears but how often you do that and it’s just literally half second which doesn’t actually matter. Engine is rev happy n ride quality is good too. I guess this product needs to be driven for a while to actually understand it’s worth n quality. If anyone is planning to buy any car in this segment, it should be tested for comparison before making any final decision. Also, rear seat comfort isn’t bad but slightly feels less airy but yes one must experience to see if it’s actually that less as people say. I personally don’t think so. Login to reply

the only variant i would say is much more Practical to buy in Kia Sonet is 1.2 HTK Plus or 1.2 HTK you almost get all the features you need in the car "Touch Screen" and all. but still the prices are awful like what went wrong after entering in the Turbo Engine options , Nexon is far better options for now but yes if you are looking for Automatic/DCT then Nexon is a bummer not a good choice , then you are better for XUV300 Automatic. Exactly I had booked sonet .. cancelled it because of over pricing of HTX+ variant and GTX+ variant there is only 35k diff between HTX+ and GT line .. to be fair GT line is getting all features for the diff of 35k ..

I was also planning for Kia, but its price are too high. Nexon is the best car as compared to features and milage. Nexon is already known car, Kia is not known due to drive reviews are not available yet. Rear seat comfort is good for 3 passengers. But Kia is not comfortable as compare nexon. Nexon is already 5star ratings. Price is almost same for both car. So think about this. Choice is your Login to reply
