Hero Unveils 2.5R XTunt Concept: A Stunt Bike with a Promising 250cc Engine

By Team ManAndMotor - 09-11-2023 12:11 PM

Hero MotoCorp has made a bold statement at the 2023 EICMA Show by unveiling the 2.5R XTunt concept motorcycle.

While initially designed as a stunt bike, this eye-catching concept hints at the upcoming launch of a 250-cc naked street bike. Let’s have a closer look at the exciting features and expectations surrounding the Hero 2.5R XTunt.

The Power Behind It

At the heart of the 2.5R XTunt concept lies a liquid-cooled, DOHC 250cc single-cylinder engine. This modern powerplant signifies Hero's foray into the 250-cc segment. It's expected to strike a balance between the 25.5 hp output of the Karizma XMR's 210 cc engine and the 31 hp of the 2024 KTM 250 Duke. The engine's larger radiator promises efficient cooling, ensuring reliable performance.

Exhilarating Styling

Concept motorcycles are known for their bold and outlandish designs, and the 2.5R XTunt is no exception. Adorned with winglets and angular extensions, it exudes an aggressive style. The premium features, such as billet-machined foot pegs, a single Brembo M50 monobloc caliper, slick tires, and a chunky golden USD fork, make it an attention-grabbing spectacle. While some of these features may not make it to the production model, the USD fork and monoshock setup are likely to stay, ensuring an aggressive and stylish appearance.

Other noteworthy elements might comprise stylish alloy wheels, a white-finished underbelly exhaust, and an engine protector. Additionally, there is active aerodynamic technology and a follow-me drone at the rear, although the likelihood of these features making it to the production model is low.

Is it road - ready?

In the past, Hero MotoCorp has a track record of translating concept motorcycles into production models, as seen with the Xtreme 160R, born from the 1.6R concept. It's safe to say that the 2.5R XTunt concept will follow suit, giving birth to a new 250cc naked street bike. Enthusiasts can look forward to a production model that carries forward the spirit and style of this striking concept.

Rivals

Hero is gearing up to compete with other premium motorcycles in the 250cc segment, including the Suzuki Gixxer 250, KTM Duke 250, and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. The 2.5R XTunt concept is set to take on these formidable rivals and is expected to come with a competitive price tag of around Rs 1.65 lakh for the production variant. Additionally, riders can anticipate a wide range of vibrant color options to choose from.

Conclusion

The Hero 2.5R XTunt concept, showcased at EICMA 2023, is more than just a stunt bike; it's a preview of what's to come in the 250cc segment. With its powerful 250-cc engine, striking design, and the promise of a production model, Hero is all set to make its mark in the premium segment.
