The upper-segment sports tourer and adventure bike have been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike will be sold in India via the CBU (completely built unit) straight from Japan, and it will only be available at Honda’s premium dealership network called BigWing.

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India today launched its premium adventurer cum tourer called the Transalp 750. The newly purchased motorcycle gets its character from the original Transalp of the 1980s. The bike comes with a 755 cc, 8-valve parallel twin engine that produces 92 hp of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 75 Nm of max torque at 7,250 rpm. The engine is combined with a 6-speed gearbox with an assisted slipper clutch. The bike gets a diamond steel frame structure with USD forks at the front and a monoshock setup at the rear. The front suspension system is a Showa 43 mm unit with 200 mm travel.

The bike rides on stainless steel spokes and aluminum rims with tubed tires. The front wheel size is 90/90-21 and the rear is 150/70R18. The global variant of the bike has a seat height of 850mm, and a low seat choice is also available at 820mm. The official specs of the Indian model are yet to be revealed. The weight of the bike is just 208 kg, and that makes it one of the lightest ADVs with an engine that has more than one cylinder in India.

Some notable features of the Transalp are dual-channel ABS with a cancel function, a 5.0-inch TFT instrument panel that shows crucial information like speed, revs, gear position, fuel level, mileage, riding mode, and other important information regarding the engine parameters. The bike will also have smartphone connectivity and voice controls to manage calls, music, and navigation. The headlight unit is full LED, and the taillights are LED too. The global model also features a type-C USB and self-canceling indicators. There are five riding modes offered on the Global model, which are expected to be offered on the Indian model as well.

Honda has opened bookings for the first 100 units only for now, and deliveries will begin next month. The bike will be offered in two body colors: Ross White and Matte Ballistic Black.

The fully built-up Transalp 750 (at Rs 10.99) is still less expensive than its European rivals like the BMW F 850 GS (Rs 12.95 lakh) and Triumph Tiger 850 Sport (Rs 11.95 lakh).
