Mahindra's upcoming EV SUVs details revealed, Thar.e details are here

Mahindra's new electric SUV range will include Thar.e, BE.05, BE.07, XUV.e8, XUV.e9, Scorpio.e and Bolero.e

Mahindra today revealed the Global Pik up and The Thar.e concept in South Africa, Cape Town, with these two products Mahindra also revealed the upcoming electric SUVs too. Mahindra revealed the timelines for four of the upcoming e-SUVs as well as their powertrain details. 

With this Mahindra also revealed the new infinity logo which will be specific to the electric range of SUVs.

Powertain Details

Mahindra today explained the specifications of their powertrains (electric motors) which will be powered in the XUV.e models. The XUV.e models which will arrive at the earliest will be getting the motors sourced from Valeo (Volkswagen). Mahindra will mount these motors on the rear axle, this means that unlike the FWD SUVs like the XUV700, this electric SUV will be the rear wheel drive and this single motor will produce 170kW (231 bhp) and 380 nm torque.source - Autocar

Mahindra's other models BE.05 and BE.07 which will launch later will get more powerful motors in the 2WD option which will produce a whopping of 210kW (286 bhp) and 535 nm torque. 4WD models will get a second motor on the front axle producing 80kW (109hp) and 135Nm. Mahindra also stated that these powertrains are already under testing.

The battery pack details were also revealed. Mahindra will be using 79kWh capacity LFP cells battery which will get charge 0-80% in 30 minutes. Mahindra also stated that these battery pack are better than the current ongoing XUV400 electric.

Launch Timelines of XUV.e and BE Electric SUVs

As per Mahindra XUV.e8 will be the very first electric SUV to be launched, which will be launched in December, 2024. This XUV.e8 will be the twin of the current XUV700. It will retain the shape, size and layout of the current XUV700. XUV.e8 will be based on the Mahindra's upcoming new INGLO skateboard platform.

Mahindra XUV e9, which will be launched in April 2025. This will essentially be a sportier looking coupe-SUV version of the XUV e8, with two rows of seats. It will likely share the same mechanicals and interiors with the XUV e8 too.

Next range of born-electric SUVs, called BE, will be completely new. It starts with the BE 05, a 4.4-metre-long coupe SUV, which will be launched in October 2025. BE.07 will be 4.6 Meter long suv and will be focused on more luxury than the BE.05. Mahindra revealed new timeline for this SUV which will be on april, 2026.

Thar and Scorprio will also get Electrified

Mahindra's directors also stated that they will electrify all their current ongoing ICE SUVs. Like the Thar.e, Scorpio and Bolero. However, The Thar.e was shown as a concept but the Bolero and Scorpio will also be electrified. However, These SUVs gets the Ladder-Frame Chassis but the electric range of these SUVs will get the upcoming INGLO Skateboard platform. As of now Mahindra hasn't revealed the launch timelines of these SUVs.
