Isuzu Motors India has confirmed that it will launch the BS6-compliant V-Cross and a new D-Max Hi-Lander variant of the pickup in the country. Both models are likely to see a release in coming weeks. If reports are to be believed, the 2021 Isuzu V-Cross Hi-Lander will be the entry-level variant of the V-Cross based on the previous generation. At present, the pickup range available in three variants – Standard, High (Z) and Z Prestige – priced at Rs 16.54 lakh, Rs 18.06 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom).
Under the hood, the 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will feature a 1.9L turbocharged diesel engine with RWD and 4WD configuration options. The power and torque figures of the oil burner are yet to be revealed. Reports suggest that the Japanese automaker might also introduce the new-generation D-Max V-Cross with the BS6-compliant 3.0L diesel engine. Prices of the new model will surely be higher than the existing one.
At present, the pickup comes with a 2.5L diesel engine that’s good enough for 134bhp and 320Nm of torque. Transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed gearbox. No changes will be made to its dimensions. The BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will continue to measure 5295mm in length, 1860mm in width and 1780mm in height. It will have a ground clearance of 220mm.
The new Isuzu V-Cross Hi-Lander is already on sale in Nepal at Rs 56.90 lakh. Visually, it looks similar to the regular D-Max pickup truck. In fact, the interior layout remains same. It come with features such a 4 speakers audio system, a tilt steering system, front and rear headrests, manual AC unit and more. On the safety front, the new Isuzu V-Cross Hi-Lander offers dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) and BA (brake assist), seatbelt pre-tensioner with load limiter, front disc brakes and steel underbody skid plate.
