The 2021 Maruti Swift will be powered by a new 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder K12N Dualjet petrol engine that also powers the Dzire sedan. This engine will come with idle start-stop technology, which should help in improving the fuel efficiency. The Dualjet engine has piston cooling jet, higher compression ratio and cooled EGR system, which reduces friction and improves the efficiency. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 90bhp and a peak torque of 113Nm. The hatchback will continue to offer the existing 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine that pushes out 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. Both engines will come with manual and AMT gearbox options. The Swift facelift with 1.2L DualJet engine is expected to deliver close to 24kmpl. The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift is likely to receive design changes in-line with Swift on sale in Japan. The hatchback could feature a new dual-tone colour scheme – Orange and Black roof. It will have a tweaked front grille with a chrome strip, contrast black roof and new alloy wheels. Adding to it, the hatchback will have a flat-bottom steering wheel, a rear view camera and automatic headlamps.
