Its been a while Honda has unveiled their new mid size SUV in India which is the Honda Elevate

After our first drive, here are 5 Pros and 5 cons about the Honda ELEVATE

5 Pros

1. It has a very bold design with muscular lines that looks very arrogant and attractive.

2. The interiors are very plush and have a feel of premiumness. The fit and finish and the material selections in the interiors are very good.

3. Honda Elevate comes with the proven 1.5 Litre i-Vtec Petrol engine which is very reliable, rev happy and delivers adequate performance. This engine pairs out 121 BHP and 145 NM of peak torque.

4. Best in segment ride and quality and the suspensions tuning are ultimate. Steering response is also very good, Elevate has a comfortable ride with dynamic handling which will excite you around the corners.

5. Super smooth gearbox options, the 6 speed MT which has long gearing and does not require much gear shiftings, the option is the CVT gearbox with 7 speed paddle shifters, it is the most smooth automatic transmission among the segment. It delivers better fuel efficiency than the manual gearbox.

5 Cons

1. There is only one engine option that too which is only a simple Petrol Naturally Aspirated engine. No Hybrid and no turbopower engine options, competions are providing Strong & Mild Hybrid engines, diesel engines and the turbo petrol engines.

2. Misses out some features that should be there on the Elevate considering that the other cars in the segment are providing like 360 Cameras, Panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, powered driver seats, ambient lighting etc.

3. CVT gearbox is good for city driving and for sedate driving but not for dynamic driving. Not good for highways specially if you wish to overtake quickly.

4. Cabin noise is prominent in the Honda Elevate, insulation levels are not up to the mark, seems like honda has not provided much dampening materials to control the noise levels. In our first drive we noticed that the cabin noise are more prominent in the Manual variant.

5. Lastly, less fuel efficiency comparing to its rival Maruti Grand Vitara, Elevate has a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.31 km/L for the manual and 16.92 km/L for the CVT automatic, in our testing Elevate was showing 11-12 in city + highways, However our driving was dynamic and sedate.
