GMC Hummer EV SUV Officially Revealed

General Motors has revealed its 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV at the 2021 NCAA’s Final Four in the commercial film narrated by LeBron James. The new GMC Hummer EV SUV comes in 4 trims – EV2, EV 2X, EV 3X and Edition 1.

Based on the next-generation Ultium Platform, the new Himmer EV SUV gets the exclusive Edition 1. It offers customer choice to equip the vehicle for optimal driving range or maximum off-road capability. Edition 1 comes standard with 22-inch premium wheels, assist steps and floor liners.

The company is also offering Extreme Off-Road package, which adds 18-inch wheels and 35-inch-OD MT tires, underbordy armor and rock sliders, front eLocker and Virtual rear Lockers, heavy-duty ball-spline half shafts, UltraVision with underbody camera views and more.

Styling elements include muscular bonnet, a sleek chrome-finished front grille, narow headlights, aggressive bumper with wider air-dam and silver skid plate. The SUV gets blacked-out B-pillars, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and vertically stacked taillights.

Inside the cabin, the SUV offers a seat for 5 adults. It gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and rugged looking buttons. It comes with the latest semi-autonomous driving system, which is called ‘Super Cruise’. This system enables one to drive the car hands-free on more than 3.22 lakh km of compatible roads in the USA and Canada. GMC claims that an enhanced version of this tech allows for automated lane changes.

The GMC Hummer EV SUV is powered by a tri-motor powertrain that produces 830bhp and 15,592Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 3.5 seconds. The Edition is claimed to offer a range of 483km on a single charge. With Extreme Off-Road pack, the range reduces by about 30km.

The GMC Hummer 2X EV features a dual motor powertrain that makes 625bhp and 10,033Nm of torque. This model will have 483km range and it can be fitted with the off-road pack. All the variants will get 4 wheel steer system as standard. The entry-level EV 2 will have the same powertrain as the 2X, but it will offer a range of 402km.
