Hyundai has launched the i20 facelift at Rs 6.99 Lakh

Hyundai i20 receives first update in the current third generation, here are the updates !

 

 

Hyundai has launched the i20 facelift in India at a starting prices of Rs 6.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The facelifted i20 has received exterior and interior changes basically a new colour scheme for the interior, along with some new features.

i20 is now available in the 1.2 Litre Naturally Aspirated petrol engine only with manual and iVT (CVT) gearboxes.

 

Exterior Design

 

The headlamps of the i20 have now become full LEDs and a revised daytime LED DRLs, with that there is some design changes in the front grille too. The Hyundai logo has also been repositioned to the bonnet which was earlier placed on the grille. Sadly, there is no fog lamps anymore. At the rear the rear bumper has been revised in terms of design with dual tone finish which also includes a matte finished silver skid plate.

 

 

Hyundai i20 is now available in a new colour shade which is amazon grey shade with other colour options like Atlas White, Titan Gray, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night, and Fiery Red colours, and dual-tone options of Atlas White + Black Roof, and Fiery Red + Black Roof.

 

Features & Interior

 

The interior of the hyundai i20 gets a new dual tone shade which is the grey and black tone which looks more premium and airy than before. Also, it gets a semi leatherette seat upholstery for the seats but is limited to top spec trim. Hyundai has also added a volume knob for the infotainment system.

 

 

 

The i20 facelift also gets revised ambient lighting, leatherette padding on the door armrests, puddle lamps with welcome function, and Hyundai’s ‘Sounds of Nature’ feature. Elsewhere, it continues with the 10.25-inch touchscreen, all-digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, seven-speaker Bose sound system, wireless phone charger, single-pane sunroof, and automatic climate control. There’s also 60+ connected features, OTA updates, voice commands and Type-C charging ports.

 

Performance

 

Hyundai has now discontinued the 1.0 Litre turbo petrol engine option which produces 120 bhp and it was mated either with a 6 speed iMT or 7 speed DCT gearbox. The facelifted i20 now only comes with a 1.2 Litre four cylinders naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 83 bhp(MT) & 88 bhp(CVT) and 115nm of peak torque.

However, the 1.0 Litre turbo petrol engine will make a comeback but it will reserved for the performance model of i20 which is the i20 N-line. The diesel engine is already been discontinued by Hyundai and there are no future plans for the same.

 

Safety

 

Standard safety features include six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, hill assist control and three-point seatbelts and reminder for all seats. It also gets a reverse parking camera, TPMS, and automatic headlamps with escort function. Hyundai is offering a three-year/ 1,00,000km warranty, with the  option of extended warranty.

 

Pricing

 

The hyundai i20 will be available in five trims which are the Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta and the Asta (O). The Era is a new base trim because of which the prices have been lowered down. The base Era trim is available at a price of Rs 6.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) and goes till Rs 11.01 lakh (Ex-Showroom) for the Asta (O) iVT variant. Below is the detailed pricing for the facelifted i20
