New Nissan Magnite Black Edition Launched, called Magnite Kuro

Nissan India has launched a new edition of its famous entry level SUV the Magnite and it is called Magnite Kuro. The line-up consists three variants with starting price of Rs. 8.27 (ex-showroom Delhi).

 

Kuro is a Japanese term that means Black, so basically Nissan has followed the ongoing fashion of bringing black edition of SUVs. The Magnite Kuro is based on the existing XV trim of the Magnite. Nissan had already started the bookings of the Magnite Kuro edition last month at Rs. 11,000.

 

What’s New in Kuro?

 

Maginite Kuro doesn't get any visible change in terms of design, it’s just the color scheme that makes the whole difference. It will feature a completely blacked out exterior look, with piano black grille, black bumpers, headlight accents, skid plates, door handles and roof rails all painted glossy black. The alloy wheels are also painted black but it also gets sporty red brake calipers. The car only gets chrome in form of the Nissan, Magnite and Kuro logos.

 

 

In the interior too, black theme is enforced with nearly all visible parts painted in black, barring some minor piano black touches. The center console, dashboard, seat upholstery all carry black appearance.

 

 

As far as features are concerned the car gets all the features offered in the XV variant, the variant it is based upon and some additional features as well. It offers front center arm rest, wireless smartphone charging, Around view Monitor (360-degree camera). The infotainment unit is a 8-inch touch screen and the instrument cluster is also digital with 7-inch digital display. The car also features automatic climate control and rear ac vent.

 

Magnite Kuro Engine and Gearbox

 

There is no any mechanical change or upgrade in the Kuro edition of Nissan Magnite, It carries forward the existing engine and gearbox options. Total three choices are offered with Kuro editon with a 72 hp, 1.0 liter NA engine that puts out 96 Nm of max torque, a 1.0 liter turbo engine that produces 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque. You can get a 5 speed manual transmission with both the engines while a CVT is also offered with the turbo motor.

The standard Magnite competes with the Renault Kiger Urban night edition and the Hyundai Venue. It also competes with the Tata Nexon and the Kia Sonet. In terms of pricing, it competes with the Hyundai Venue, the Renault Kiger, the Kia XUV300, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and more.
