Recently, the Indo-Japanese carmaker introduced the updated Swift hatchback with a new, more powerful engine, improved styling and a bunch of features. In coming months, the company will roll out the new-generation models of the Celerio hatchback and Vitara Brezza sub-4 meter SUV. If reports are to be believed, the 2021 Maruti Celerio will come in the month of May and 2021 Maruti Vitara Brezza will arrive near around festive season (Diwali).

Set for a generation change, the Maruti Celerio will switch to the brand’s new Heartect platform from the existing architecture. The spy pictures reveal that the hatchback will retain its tall boy stance, but grow in terms of dimensions. It will be bigger and more spacious than the current generation. Some of its design changes will include a new grille, updated headlamps, bumpers and taillamps.

The hatchback’s interior will also witness a few noticeable upgrades such as a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, new dashboard and instrument cluster, steering mounted controls and automatic climate unit. The 2021 Maruti Celerio will come with the 83bhp, 1.2L petrol and 68bhp, 1.0L petrol engines and 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes.

Rumour has it that the 2021 Maruti Vitara Brezza will be based on the modified version of the existing architecture or Suzuki’s Heartect platform. One of the major update will be made under its hood. The new-generation model will be made available with the BS6-compliant 1.5L diesel engine.

Reports suggest that the subcompact SUV will also feature the 1.5L K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine (104bhp/138Nm) with a stronger mild hybrid system. The updated one will be more fuel efficient than the existing unit. The new Vitara Brezza will have a few more goodies to offer. There might be connected car technologies and wireless phone charging along with the new infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.
