2021 Yamaha R15 V3.0, the entry-level supersport bike from the Japanese two-wheeler maker, will soon receive a new Red colour scheme. Prior to its market launch, the new shade model has been leaked on the web. Compared to the existing colour variants, the new Red one is likely to be more expensive. At present, the bike comes in three paint schemes – Thunder Grey, Racing Blue and Dark Knight (Black) – priced at Rs 1.50 lakh, Rs 1.51 lakh and Rs 1.52 lakh respectively.
The new colour variant has sporty Red finishing on the fuel tank, front fairing and the trim below the pillion seat. The cowl placed above the LED headlamp, however, is painted in contrast Grey shade. Besides the new Red colour, no changes have been made to the 2021 Yamaha R15.
For power, the bike uses the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine benefited with fuel injection technology. It motor comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. It pushes out a peak power of 18hp and 14.1Nm of torque. The bike gets dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard feature along with 282mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes. Its suspension system includes telescopic fork upfront and monocross (link unit) at the rear.
Features such as radial tubeless tyres at the rear wheel, engine cut-off switch and dual horn are standard across the range. Some of other key highlights include LED brake taillight, digital speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge, gear position indicator, fuel consumption indicator, shift timing light, VVA indicator and a digital clock. The Racing Blue variant is exclusively offered with Blue coloured wheels.
Earlier this year, the Japanese bikemaker introduced the 2021 Yamaha R15 V3 in three new shades in Indonesia. The paint schemes include Matte Black, Matte Silver and Metallic Blue. The Metallic colour model has a combination of Black, Grey and Blue shades and resembles to the one offered on bigger R1 and R6 supersport bikes.
