Hyundai Alcazar, the Creta based 6/7-seater SUV from the South Korean carmaker, is ready to make its world debut on 6th April 2021. Ahead of official arrival, select Hyundai dealers have started accepting pre-bookings for the model. As per a fresh media report, the unofficial booking amount is Rs 50,000. The carmaker has already confirmed its Alcazar will see a release in May and its deliveries are reported to start in June 2021. Hyundai’s new three-row SUV will lock horns against cars like MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV500 and the newly-launched Tata Safari.
As mentioned above, the Alcazar will come with both 6 and 7-seats configurations featuring dual-tone individual captain seats and bench type seats for the middle row respectively. The second row passengers will have wireless phone charging facility, Isofix mounts, a dedicated armrest with cup holders (6-seater) and small storage space. Reports suggest the new three-row SUV will have larger infotainment system than the Creta that comes with 10.25-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity and voice recognition.
Rumour also has it that the Hyundai Alcazar might come with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technology along with features such as BlueLink connected car technology, a 360 degree camera and automatic AC unit. Most of the comfort goodies, connectivity features and safety fitments will be carried over from the 5-seater Creta.
While the upcoming Alcazar SUV will share its platform and most of its design elements with the Creta, a few noticeable changes have been made to its side and rear profiles. Unlike the Creta that comes with 17-inch alloys wheels, the new three-row SUV is likely to have bigger, newly-designed 18-inch alloys. It will feature a flatter roof, newly-designed C-column, wraparound C-shaped LED taillamps, revised rear bumper and extended rear overhang.
The new Hyundai Alcazar SUV can be had with either a 1.4L turbo petrol (138bhp/250Nm) or 1.5L turbo diesel (113bhp/250Nm) engine, borrowed from the Creta. While the former will be available with a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox, the latter will come with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Both motors will get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
