Hyundai India will unveil the much-anticipated Alcazar 7-seater SUV on April 6, 2021. It is basically the long-wheelbase version of the Creta SUV. After releasing the teaser images, Hyundai has released a video revealing the camouflaged Alcazar. The 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar SUV is expected to be launched in the next couple of months.

The company claims that the Hyundai Alcazar has been tested over varying terrains such as rough roads, fast paced highways and hilly terrain. The SUV is developed on Hyundai’s Global Design identity of Sensuous Sportiness, which we have already seen on new breed of Hyundai cars & SUVs. The new camouflaged Alcazar receive significant design changes to keep things fresh in the market.

The front fascia looks identical to the Creta, but it gets a more premium chrome-studded front grille. The side profile receive maximum changes, as the length of the SUV has been increased to accommodate third row of seats. It gets extended rear overhangs, larger glass house area, and bigger rear doors for easy ingress and egress. The SUV gets flattish roof instead of the sloping roof in the 5-seater Creta.

The Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater gets blacked-out pillars, new alloys, roof rails, shark fin antenna and chrome door handles. The rear profile has also been revised, as it gets flatter profile instead of rounded profile in the 5-seater Creta. The SUV gets new tailgate, new tail-lights, roof-integrated spoiler with brake lights, and new bumper.

The upcoming Hyundai Alcazar will ride on longer wheelbase and the length will be raised to accommodate third row of seats. It is rumoured to feature a 20mm longer wheelbase compared to the Creta’s 2,610mm. The length of the SUV is reportedly to be increased by 30mm. The new Alcazar is likely to get front parking sensors, which is missing in the 5-seater car.

The Hyundai Alcazar will come with 6-and 7-seat options. The 6-seater model will get captain’s chairs for the second row. It gets dark brown scheme instead of beige shade in the Creta. It also gets slightly revised central tunnel, new colour for seats and uniquely styled floor-mounted central armrest with cup holders. The second row occupants also get wireless charging pad. The second row seats will come with a tumble-down feature. The third row seats come with integrated headrests and cup holders. AC vents are also offered for the third row.

Estimated to be priced between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 19 lakh, the Hyundai Alcazar will rival the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500 and the MG Hector Plus. If reports are to be believed, the Alcazar could receive a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 152bhp and 192Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The SUV could also get a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that offers 138bhp and 250Nm of torque.  It’s likely to come with a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) automatic gearbox. The diesel version will get the 113bhp, 1.5L turbo engine, which can be paired to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
