The i20 N Line gets the mid life update similar to the regular i20 which got facelift couple of weeks ago. Similar to i20 the hot hatch also gets only some minor changes and cosmetic tweaks in terms of looks. However the major update comes in the form of the engine gearbox combo because the newly launched version finally gets the much awaited 6 speed Manual gear box option mated to the tried and tested 1.0 liter 3 pot turbo petrol motor that produces 120 PS of peak power at 6000 rpm and 172 Nm of max torque between 1500 to 4000 rpm. The other gearbox option is a 7 speed DCT Unit. The turbo option is now only limited to the N – Line Version as of now because the regular i20 just gets the Naturally Aspirated 1.2 liter motor.

Hyundai i20 N Line Exterior

Since this is not a major update, the car has got very subtle changes in terms of looks. The front bumper is similar to the earlier version with N Line logo at the right side, unlike the regular i20 the N Line can be seen with projector fog lamps surrounded by chrome garnish and air curtains. The lower part of the bumper gets a sporty red accents. The headlamp unit is now new with complete LED set up unlike the earlier car which got projectors. The day time running lights are also get minor change.

At the rear the car gets a tweaked bumper with twin exhaust set-up. Just like the front rear also gets red accents. The tail lights are connected but with a chrome garnish and are not the illuminated one.

At the side profile it gets a new set of 16 inch alloy wheels which appear a more busier now.

Hyundai i20 N Line Interior

In the interior Hyundai has tried to differentiate it from the regular i20, as the N Line gets all black interior with sporty red accents on the door pads and in the ac console. The steering wheel is completely different form the regular i20 and it is a sporty three spoke version. The car also features red ambient lighting, sporty gear lever and sporty metallic pedals. The instrument cluster though is similar to the regular i20.

Hyundai i20 N Line Features

The car gets similar level of equipments as the top spec regular i20 with a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment unit which gets Android Auto and Apple Car play and attached with 7 speaker Bose Sound System, wireless phone charging pad, Automatic AC, Cruise Control. N Line also gets sunroof as standard. The Automatic version gets three drive modes as well.

Hyundai i20 N Line Safety

As far as safety is concerned i20 N Line gets standard 6 airbags, 3 pointer seat belts and reminder, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), ABS with EBD, ESC and Hill Assist Control, Reverse Camera and Automatic Headlamps. With adequate safety kit the car should perform good in the upcoming BNCAP if tested.

Hyundai i20 N Line Most value for money Variant!

The newly launched Hyundai i20 N Line gets many best in segment features and this time the car also gets the manual gearbox option, with starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh. In our opinion if you are not satisfied with the performance of naturally aspirated engine in the regular i20 and want some more punch the i20 N Line N6 is the best option with MT, The DCT version which comes at the premium of around 1.1 lakh seems a little unjustified, also for enthusiasts MT makes more sense the DCT which can not be launched aggressively. The N6 also comes with nearly all essential features and misses out on some fancy features.

Missing features in N6:

Puddle lamps

Electrochromic IRVM

Height adjustment seat belts

LED lights

Soft touch leather pads in doors

Ambient lights

Smart key and push button start stop

Wireless charging

Rear Wiper

Rear seat adjustable headrest

Sliding armrest at front

10.25 infotainment ( gets 8 inch unit)

Sub woofer

Bluelink Smart features.

Hyundai i20 N Line Rivals

In current scenario the i20 N Line has no real rivals but the TATA Altroz Turbo is somewhat closer to it in terms of specification, but the i20 N Line also gets some mechanical tuning for spirited performnce which the Altroz doesn’t get.
