MG Hector and Hector Plus SUVs see a price drop of up to Rs. 1.37 lakh!

MG Motors India has reduced the price of its famous SUVs Hector and Hector Plus amid tough competition from the rivals.

The two SUVs see a considerable price drop of up to Rs. 1.37 lakh for Hector Plus and up to Rs. 1.29 lakh for Hector. The minimum decrease is for the base version ‘Style’ of Hector while the maximum price cut is for the top version of Hector Plus in diesel avatar that now costs Rs. 1.37 lakh lesser. The price drop can be seen as a corrective measure to boost the stagnated sales of the Hector twins which are just averaging 2000 units/month combined. On the other hand the competition is performing much better averaging 6000 units/month for the likes of XUV700 and Scorpio. Also with the festive season ahead MG Motors might have in minds to capitalize on the significant price drop.

MG Hector now starts at Rs 14.73 lakh and goes up to Rs 21.51 lakh.

Hector and Hector Engine Options

Complete Hector line up comes with two engine options: a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine that produces 143 bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of torque while the diesel engine is a 2.0 liter that churns out 170 bhp and 350 Nm of max torque. The Petrol Hector and Hector Plus can be had with a 6 speed manual transmission of a CVT transmission while diesel is only mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.
