Kia India garners more than 50,000 bookings of Kia Seltos in just 2 months of its launch, adds two more variants to the line up to offer more choices in non-metro cities.

With the increasing demand of Kia Seltos, the South Korean manufacturer is increasing the production capacity to meet the demands of the mid size SUV in the upcoming festive season. Kia has also introduced two new trims just below the top variants to maximize the range options for buyers of non-metro cities, where the rivals like Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara have strong foothold.

The two new variants in the Seltos line up are – the GTX+ (S) priced at Rs 19.39 lakh and X-Line (S) priced at Rs 19.59 lakh (Both ex-showroom). While the model range starts from Rs 10.89 lakh and goes upto Rs 19.99 lakh for range topping X Line model.

Currently the waiting period of Kia Seltos stands at around four months but with the introduction of two new trim options and increased production Kia India is hoping to bring down the waiting period to around two months.

The new two variants misses out on two key features, a 360 degree camera and Bose surround sound system. However, these variants will come with rear camera for park assist, ADAS, dual infotainment screens, electronic park brake and diamond cut alloy wheels. Both the newly introduced variant will come with only automatic option, either a 7-speed DCT or 6-speed torque converter with the 1.5 litre TGDi petrol engine and 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine respectively. With the introduction of these two new variants the total variant lists has now become 20.

The major rivals of Seltos include Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Hyundai Creta, VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. While others are newly launched products the bestseller in segment Hyundai Creta will get a major update early next year. In terms of market share, currntly Kia holds about 7% of the Indian Car Market and aims to achieve 10% of market share by 2030.
