The much-anticipated all-electric Jaguar I-Pace will go on sale in the Indian market tomorrow. It will be Jaguar’s first electric vehicle in our market. Bookings for the I-Pace pure EV has already been commenced.

The new Jaguar I-Pace will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQC and the upcoming Audi e-tron in India. To be offered in 3 variants – S, SE and HSE, the I-Pace is estimated to be priced around Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.2 crore (ex-showroom).

The Jaguar I-Pace EV is equipped with a 90kWh lithium-ion battery, and two synchronous permanent magnet electric motors at the front as well as rear axle. This setup offers a combined power output of 394bhp and a peak torque of 396Nm. Power will be transmitted to the wheels via an AWD system.

It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 4.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 200kmph. Featuring a large battery, the I-Pace gives an impressive range of 480kms. Jaguar claims that the I-Pace’s HVAC and heated seats will only consume about 1% of the power away from the battery. Featuring rapid charging system (with 100kW rapid charger), the Jaguar I-Pace battery can be charged up to 80% from zero in just 45 minutes. Using 7kW AC wall box, the battery can be fully charged in around 10 hours.

In terms of proportions, the Jaguar I-Pace is 4,682mm long, 2,139mm wide and 1,566mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,990mm. It offers a ground clearance of 174mm. The base variant of the I-Pace will be equipped with 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED lighting system, a full-length fixed glass roof, dual touchscreen infotainment system, InControl connected car tech and others as standard. The top-end variant will receive adaptive Matrix LED headlamps, adaptive cruise control, a heads-up display, windsor leather sport seats, and a hands-free boot release. The electric SUV will also get a 16-speaker, 825W Meridian sound system.

As an option, the Jaguar I-Pace will get adaptive air suspension, four-zone climate control, a digital rear view mirror, an ionising air-purifier with PM2.5 filter, etc. Jaguar will give a complimentary 5-year service package and 5 years of roadside assistance, along with the standard 8 year or 1.6 lakh kilometers battery warranty.
