Mahindra XUV300 to get latest features; test mule spotted

By Adarsh Dutt Upadhyay - 09-10-2023 04:25 PM

The upcoming facelift of Mahindra’s sub-four-metre SUV, the XUV300, is set to be unveiled early next year. The test version of the car has been spied many times over the months, and very recently, a completely new spy shot of the car has surfaced on the internet, although it’s covered in full-on camouflage to protect its exterior look.

Design Cues

The exterior of the Mahindra XUV300 follows BE-inspired styling. The XUV300 borrows design elements from the BE05 Electric. This includes compact headlamps as well as C-shaped LED DRLs. The front grille and front bumper will also be more prominent on the XUV300. It is expected that the XUV300 is more similar to the XUV700 as well as the upcoming BE series. This is especially true at the rear, where the XUV300 gets a newly redesigned tailgate. The full-width LED light strip, which we have seen in the BE concepts, will also make an appearance. The heavy camouflage masked the rear view, but it appears that it will get very sleek-looking C-shaped LED tail lights.

According to the latest spy shots, the XUV300 will be outfitted with a new infotainment system. In order to compete with its new rival, the new Tata Nexon, the higher trims will be equipped with a new touchscreen interface. We expect the XUV300 to have a 10-inch touchscreen, depending on the trim level. The instrument cluster will also be a fully digital unit. The XUV300 is expected to be outfitted with the following new features:

360-degree camera

Wireless phone charging

Ventilated front seats

Automatic climate control

Sunroof

Cruise control

Six airbags

Electronic stability control

Engine Options and Rivals

The engine options are expected to remain the same with the 110 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor and the 130 PS version, which is T-Gdi. A 1.5-litre oil burner will also continue as per the reports, and it produces a healthy 115 bhp. All the engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, while there will also be the option of a 6-speed AMT.

The XUV300 rivals the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and Nissan Magnite.
