The Chennai-based bikemaker has rolled out a new dual-tone variant of the 2021 TVS Star City Plus commuter motorcycle. Priced at Rs 65,865 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Pearl Blue and Silver dual-tone colour scheme has been offered on both disc and drum variants. The new model has dual-tone finish on the headlamp cowl, side and rear panels and fuel tank. The front fender and pillion grab rail has been painted in Blue finish.
Just so you know, the commuter received Roto Petal Disc brakes and ET-FI (Ecothrust Fuel Injection) technology earlier this month. The latter claims improve its fuel efficiency by 15 percent. The bikemaker says that the TVS Star City Plus has over 3 million customers and this huge customer base has been achieved in 15 years of its existence.
For power, the 2021 TVS Star City Plus uses an 110cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that comes paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The motor pushes out a peak power of 8.08bhp at 7,350rpm and 8.7Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm. The commuter bike can attain a top speed of 90kmph. The suspension duties are taken care of by a telescopic fork upfront and 5-step adjustable rear shocks. The bike has been assembled with 17-inch wheels shod with tubeless tyres. The bike’s updated model comes with LED headlamp, USB mobile charger and several other goodies.
In other updates, TVS Motor Company recently introduced the 2021 Apache RTR 160 4V and Apache RTR 200 4V. The former gets a more powerful 159.cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that’s good for 17.63PS and 14.73Nm. In fact, the updated Apache RTR 160 4V is 2kg light than before. The model comes in Disc and Drum brakes priced at Rs 110,320 and Rs 107,270 respectively. The 2021 Apache RTR 200 4V single-channel ABS has been made available with segment-first ride modes, priced at Rs 1.28 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
