The retail sales of Royal Enfield declined 6.71 per cent to 52,713 units in February 2021, according to the latest data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). The two-wheeler manufacturer had retailed 56,506 units in the year-ago month. However, Royal Enfield's market share in India's two-wheeler segment increased to 4.83 per cent in February 2021 from 4.35 per cent in February 2020.
The two-wheeler manufacturer's product portfolio in India in February 2021 included the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Royal Enfield Himalayan, Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. As per FADA, the overall two-wheeler registrations in India fell 16.08 per cent to 10,91,288 units in February 2021 from 13,00,364 units in the same month last year. The registration data does not include figures from Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Lakshadweep.
Last month, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 won the prestigious IMOTY (Indian Motorcycle of the Year) 2021 award beating the likes of the Hero Passion Pro, Hero Glamour, Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda Hornet 2.0, Bajaj Dominar 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the KTM 390 Adventure.
